Today I am sharing a twisted easel fun fold birthday card we made at my February 2017 FMN class featuring the Cool Treats bundle.
The popped up ice cream on the inside of the card holds the easel in place when the card is open.
The Cool Treats stamp set has so many great ice cream images and I love the texture the coordinating Frozen Treats dies give the ice cream cones.The look so real you could just eat them.
This fun card is so versatile and can be used for any gender or age by just changing up the color combo.
When putting this card together we found it is super important for the diagonal fold to be in the right direction for the card to function properly.
We did a cool technique on the focal point I learned at a recent NC Demos meeting called raised ink. I love how this makes it looks like there is actual fudge on the ice cream- so yummy!
To create this look we used the fine tip glue pen to color over the stamped chocolate and then let it dry. Isn’t it cool how the fudge on the solid peekaboo peach cardstock looks like dark chocolate and then the fudge on the stamped pool party is more of a milk chocolate look due to the blending of the layered stamped colors.
