This design started with a simple idea: take a flat card base and add just one interactive element that creates movement, texture, and visual interest—all without complicated measurements or bulky layers.

The result is a card that opens beautifully, feels special in your hands, and still comes together quickly at your craft table.

A Simple Change, A Totally Different Look

During the live demonstration, I actually made a small change that perfectly shows why this layout works so well.

The original sample uses Peach Pie cardstock behind the Designer Series Paper. When I went to recreate it during the video, I swapped that layer for Calypso Coral instead.

Same layout.
Same paper.
Same sentiment.

But the finished card feels completely different.

That’s one of my favorite things about well-designed card layouts — once the structure works, you can adjust colors, textures, or accents to suit whatever you have on hand without starting over.

This Corner Explosion Fun Fold hits that sweet spot between special and practical.

Here’s why it’s a layout I’d absolutely keep in your idea files:
