I have a super cool technique card I created in my Tuesday Facebook LIVE showcasing the Butterflies & Flowers Decorative Masks to share with you today.
Have you ever tried Shadow Stamping? What about Shadow Stamping using masks? It’s SO MUCH FUN!

Shadow Stamping is basically stamping an image or collection of images in one color and then stamping the same images again, offsetting them just a bit to create a shadow effect.
Typically the first image is stamped in a darker color, but you can really play with this to see what you like best. My favorite to stamp emboss the 2nd stamped image as it creates a really nice contrast.
The Stamparatus is a great tool to use for Shadow Stamping as it allows you to easily stamp an image in exactly the place you want it.
For this project, I decided to try Shadow Stamping, but using decorative masks vs stamps so no need for the Stamparatus as I was able to easily see the images beneath the masks.
The awesome patterns in the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks were the perfect choice!
These stencils are an easy way to blend colors on your cards and other paper crafting projects. You can use the background masks on their own. But your images will really pop when you layer the detailed masks over the backgrounds to get even more depth and dimension.
Use with Classic Stampin’ Ink and coloring tools such as Blending Brushes (as I did on today’s project) or Sponge Daubers for beautiful color.
You can also use them with Embossing Paste and Palette Knives for textured designs. These are fun as well!
