Today I am sharing a super cool masculine birthday card we made at my March 2017 FMN class featuring the Balloon Adventure stamp set and coordinating Balloon Pop-Up thinlits.
For the focal point on the card front I taught a paper embroidery technique I learned from LeeAnn Greff. I found an embroidery needle gave me the best results.
I was really surprised how easy this technique was and it looks AWESOME!

When the card base is open it creates a shadowbox, but folds flat when closed…how fun!
We scored the 5 1/2″ x 11″ card base at 1/2″, 4″, 4 1/2″ and 8″ and then die cut the balloon image.
We added tear & tape to the 1/2″ tab and folded the card along the 4″ score line as shown. Then simply close the front flap to adhere it to the tab. When you open it back up you have a perfect box!
I also showed a tip where we added some Tombo liquid glue to the edge of the silicone mat and then used a sponge to add the adhesive to the back of the intricate die cut pieces to quickly adhere them to the card base.
