Today I am sharing a fun fold (also known as the turkish map fold) we did at the April 2015 FMN class. I learned this fold from the talented Julie Fei-Fan Balzer.
I just love how the inside of the card just explodes when you open it up!
We used the fabulous Build a Bouquet stamp set featured in the Occasions catalog to create this beautiful watercolor look.
To create this fun fold I started with a piece of 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Whisper White cardstock. Tip:Be sure to do all your stamping prior to making your folds for the best images.
With the front of the inside of the card facing you, fold cardstock in half diagonally.
Open piece and then fold in half diagonally on the opposite corner.
Open piece and flip the cardstock over (back side facing you).
Fold the cardstock in half ; front top to bottom.
Open up with the back side of the piece facing you.
Push the sides in to create a triangle.
Fold corners in to the center on both sides. Tip: you will want to fold this ends in the opposite direction (inside) as well to make the next step easier.
Flip piece over and repeat on opposite side.
Open flaps back out and then push the center of each triangle in.
Once your fold is complete your folded piece will look like this. Now you are ready to adhere the top and bottom of the folded cardstock to the inside of the card base.
Hope You Enjoy,
