Have you ever tried stamping on Vellum cardstock? Vellum can be a bit tricky to work with, but it is so worth it. All you need is a good understanding of the best way to work with Vellum.
The first thing to remember when stamping on Vellum is, it’s a non-porous surface. This means the ink will sit on top of the cardstock versus allowing air to move through it, which takes much longer to dry.
You can speed up the drying process:
- Heat Emboss the image (I prefer clear embossing powder) which actually acts as a way to seal the ink onto the surface.
- You can use a Heat Tool. You have to watch adding heat to Vellum as it tends to curls up once heat is applied, making it a bit more difficult to adhere in place.
My preferred method of drying stamped images on Vellum is to simply give it time to airdry. This does take some patience. Once the stamped image is no longer shiny, you know it is dry and is safe to handle without the ink smearing.
