Today I am sharing a cool Slider Pull card we made at my August FMN class. Sheila Tatum showed us how to create this card at our July Diemonds team meeting and I just had to give it a try.

The focal point on the front of my card is a shaker created by adhering a layer of Vellum cardstock to a Whisper White layer with washi tape. We added some  punched stars between our layers before sealing the last side.

The slider layer is cut 5 1/4″ x 4″.

First cut slits 3/4″in from the outer edge starting at 1″ down from the top of the piece. Repeat on the opposite side.

It will look like this after both slits are cut.

Next you will score between the 2 slit lines at  1″, 2 1/2″ and 4 3/4″.

Your completed cut/scored piece will look like this. You will want to be sure to punch a half circle at the center/top of the layer before putting the card together.

Before putting all your layers together be sure to stamp each layer as desired.

Putting this together was a bit tricky the first time, but worth it.

Fold your slider layer along your score lines as shown and add a strip of tear tape the the back of the bottom tab.

My pull tab is Whisper White cardstock cut 5 1/4″ x 2 3/4″. The bottom of this tab will be adhered to the bottom of your slider layer.

Next I created another layer for my greeting and decided to adhere it to my slider versus my card base so the alignment of the layers would be easier. I cut this 3″x 3 1/2″. I added some snail adhesive along the outer edge of the back of my slider layer to catch the edges of my greeting layer. Tip: be sure to avoid getting any adhesive on the pull tab layer as this will cause the slider not to function properly.

Next add tear tape from top to bottom along the slider layer as shown below making sure to catch the edge of your greeting layer. Adhere to the 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ card base.

I added 4 dimensions between the slits and the last two score lines to adhere my focal point to the card front.

I found this got easier the more I made. Give it a try!
