Today I am sharing a beautiful thank you card I created using the Paisley & Posie stamp set and coordinating framelits.
The owl focal point was inspired by one I saw created by Bronwyn Eastley and I had to give it a try.
The copper embossed designer series paper made the perfect background for this card.
On the inside of the card I used the Floral Phrases stamp set for my greeting.
To re-create this look on your own here is what you will need to do:
Start out with a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of the designer paper and diecut a scallop oval out of the center with the Big Shot and Layering Ovals framelits.
I added a 4″ x 3″ piece of Copper Foil paper behind the scallop oval cut out with stampin dimensionals and then wrapped the Copper Metallic thread around the layer before adhering it to the 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ (folded in half) Thick White cardstock base.
Use the Paisley framelits and the Big Shot to diecut all the owl pieces.
In Night of Navy cardstock die cut 1 of the owl tail feathers. Notice I kept a piece of the trash to use for his beak.
Diecut 1 small flower out of the designer series paper.
Diecut 2 small flowers out of the Copper Foil paper.
Stamp (Night of Navy ink on Whisper White cardstock) and diecut the larger medallion for the owl body.
Stamp (Night of Navy ink on Whisper White cardstock) and diecut 2 smaller medallions for the owl eyes.
Stamp (Night of Navy ink on Whisper White cardstock) and diecut 2 of the flowers to use as the owl eyelids.
Use the blender pen to add a bit of Night of Navy ink at the top of the eyelid for a bit more color.
Adhere the tail feathers to the owl body with the fine tip glue pen.
Adhere the small diecut flowers down with glue dots.
Adhere the beak to the owl body with the fine tip glue pen.
Use glue dots to adhere the eyelids to the back of the owl eyes.
Add adhesive pearls to the eye centers.
Adhere the owl body to the card front with snail adhesive.
Then add the eyes using stampin dimensionals to complete the outside of the card.
