Today I am sharing a beautiful card we made at my May FMN class featuring the Painted Petals stamp set (so sad to see this one going away)
This card uses a cool pop up book fold inspired by Deb Valder that I just had to try. Everyone at class seemed to really enjoy this one.
Super cool and so beautiful don’t you think?
My outside card base is a 10″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock folded in half.
For the inside card layer I started with a 10 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Wisteria Wonder Cardstock. Cut and score as shown below to create the book fold.
At 3/4″ in along each of the long sides, cut a slit starting at the 1 1/2″ mark and ending at the 9″ mark.
Once your slits are cut your piece will look like this.
Turn the cardstock 90 degrees and score the entire length @ 5 1/4″ (center of the cardstock)
The next score lines will run between the outer slit lines: Score at 1 1/2″, 2 1/4″, 8 1/4″ and 9″.
The next score lines will run on the outer edges, stopping at the slit lines: Score at 3 3/8″ and 7 1/8″
Fold card base as shown. Note when adhering the inside layer to the outside, be sure to only add adhesive along the flat ends. You do not want the pop up sections glued down or the card will not fold correctly.
Hope You Enjoy,
