Today I am sharing a cool technique that was shared by Therese Calvird called negative layered die cut window.
I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Wisteria Wonder cardstock and folded it in half for my card base.
I used 4 different sizes from my Circle Collection framelits to cut circles out of the following layers, cutting largest to smallest.
- 5 1/4″ x 4″ Designer Paper
- 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ Blackberry Bliss Cardstock
- 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ Elegant Eggplant Cardstock
- 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ Perfect Plum Cardstock
Adhere each layer together offsetting the circles slightly.
I placed the cut out layer (do not adhere) on top of my card base on my grid paper and used my grid paper as a guide to place my greeting .
Remove the cut out layer and stamp the greeting on the card base. Then adhere the cut out layer to the card base with stampin dimensionals.
I used the Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum markers to randomly color a few of the hearts on the designer paper layer. I also added dazzling details to a few of the hearts for a little sparkle.
I finished the card with a wooden heart I had left over from my Watercolor Wishes card kit.
Hope You Enjoy,
