When I first saw the new layering circles, squares, ovals and hearts framelits I was very curious to see how they compared to the older framelits dies that retired with the last catalog so I cut each shape out and compared them. I wanted to see if I really needed these new dies as well.
I started with the layering circles collection framelits and cut the solid circle images in the yellow cardstock and the scalloped images in the purple so you could easily see how they layer with each other.
I cut the retired circle dies in all white. You can quickly see the spacing between the sizes is much different on these two collections.
I layered the two collections together to see exactly how they layered and was really excited with the results.
I repeated the cuts with the new & retired layering squares collections framelits and saw very similar results.
I repeated the cuts again with the new & retired layering oval collections framelits and well.
After playing with the dies, I must say you will not be disappointed in adding each of these to your collection. Love, love, love having both the smooth edge as well as the baby scallop edge. They layer nicely with each other and add a new dimension to the retired dies as well. I can’t wait to get the hearts collection as well!
