Jar Shaped Card Tutorial | How to Make a DSP Layered Jar Card with Dies (Video)

If you’ve ever wanted to make a shaped card that feels special but still practical to produce in multiples, this jar shaped card tutorial is for you.

Inside this month’s Cultivated Creativity membership, we’re focusing on efficient die use and stretching your Designer Series Paper (DSP) — and this jar card is our bonus project to reinforce both.

Using the Filled with Sweetness dies from the Homemade Sweetness suite, I created a full jar shaped card base from solid cardstock. Then I layered a second jar front cut from Designer Series Paper (DSP) to add pattern and interest without complicating the design.

The lid is die cut from a coordinating DSP print and wrapped with twine for texture. A simple white die-cut label holds the stamped sentiment and heart detail, finished with Frosted Dots for dimension and Wink of Stella sparkle.

On the inside, I kept it clean:
• A punched circle
• Coordinating sentiment
• A subtle strip of DSP
• A touch of shimmer on the hearts

• 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ Misty Moonlight or Strawberry Slush CS- die cut
• 4″ x 4-1/2″ DSP- die-cut
• 4-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ DSP- die cut
• 3″ x 2-1/4″ Basic White CS- die cut
• 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ Basic White CS-punch
• Approx. 16″ twine
