Hello, creative friends!
Are you ready to take your cardmaking skills to the next level? Today, I’m thrilled to share a bonus project that’s part of our February 2025 Cultivated Creativity kit—a gorgeous all-occasions card designed to wow, no matter the celebration. This design not only showcases advanced techniques but also offers amazing versatility, so you can adapt it to any occasion throughout the year.
What Makes This Card So Special?
- Layer with Impact: Start with a clean white card base and add bold pops of color using Basic Black and Melon Mambo cardstock layers. Watch as I demonstrate how to offset these layers at an angle for a dynamic visual effect.
- Add Texture and Dimension: I use the Linked Together Decorative Masks to apply embossing paste to a white layer, creating a textured background that really makes your design stand out. Then, with a blending brush, I apply Melon Mambo ink to give that layer a beautiful, rich hue.
- Create a Striking Focal Point: I die-cut a delicate white butterfly to serve as a focal point, layering it over the embossed background for a stunning contrast. Plus, I add a “just a note” sentiment stamped in Memento Black on Melon Mambo cardstock, carefully layered over the butterfly.
- Finish with Flair: The final touches include the addition of Purple Adhesive-backed sequins—an exclusive bonus available FREE with a qualifying purchase during our Sale-a-Bration promotion (available now through February 28, 2025).
And for those who love variety, I also show an alternate color variation using Fresh Freesia in place of Melon Mambo, proving just how adaptable this design can be.
