Easy Christmas Card Idea with a Clever Ornament Twist (Video)

Sometimes the smallest design changes make the biggest difference!

For today’s handmade Christmas card, I created a festive NOEL greeting with a fun little twist—using an ornament in place of the letter “O”!

It’s a simple idea that adds so much personality to the design. And with the combination of patterned paper, texture, and a few finishing touches, the whole card comes together beautifully.

A Little Creative Twist Makes All the Difference

One of my favorite things about cardmaking is finding new ways to use the supplies I already have.

Instead of treating the ornament as a separate embellishment, I made it part of the greeting itself! It becomes the focal point while helping all the other design elements work together.

I also love how the patterned paper, textured background, and greenery add interest without competing with that fun NOEL greeting.

Don’t Forget the Inside!

A handmade card deserves a little love on the inside, too!

I carried the ornament theme through to the interior and added a playful fa la la la la greeting. It’s a small detail, but it makes the finished card feel a little more special without adding complicated cuts, mechanisms or a long list of measurements.
