Ahoy, crafty adventurers! Prepare to embark on a voyage of creativity as we explore the depths of papercrafting with the delightful Submarine Life stamp set and coordinating punch by Stampin’ Up!
In today’s tutorial, I’ll be sharing a fun and whimsical card design that I created for a demonstrator swap. This is one of my favorite aspects of being a demonstrator. I would love for you to join us for our next team swap! Find out more about becoming a Diemond HERE.
This project is not only adorable but also showcases a clever technique to make the windows on the submarine look like real glass using the Fine Tip Glue pen. Love it! Plus, I’m excited to announce that we’ll be incorporating this fantastic stamp and punch bundle into our upcoming bingo card class… you won’t want to miss out on the fun!
Let’s dive into the steps:
1. Prepare Your Card Base: Start by selecting a cardstock color for your card base. Trim and fold the cardstock to your desired card size. I created a standard letter size card that finishes 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ when folded.
2. Stamp and Punch the Submarine Focal Point: Using the Submarine Life stamp set, stamp the submarine images onto a piece of white or light-colored cardstock. Then, use the coordinating Submarine Builder Punch to punch out the submarine shape. Super fast & easy!
3. Create the Glass Windows: Now, here’s where the magic happens! Take your Fine Tip Glue Pen and carefully apply a thin layer of glue over the windows of the submarine. Allow the glue to dry completely (thos may take a bit). As it dries, it will create a glossy, transparent finish that mimics the look of glass!
4. Assemble Your Card: Adhere the submarine onto your card base using adhesive. You can also add additional stamped images, die cuts, or embellishments to enhance the underwater scene. I used die-cut elements I created with the Bright Skies (one of my favs) and the Tailor Made Tags Dies (also a fav).
5. Final Touches: Embellish your creation with any additional details you desire. You can add ribbon or twine for a finishing touch.
