Christmas 5 Panel Fancy Fold

Merry Christmas! Today I am sharing one last Holiday card…a 5 panel fun fold Christmas card I made using the Star of Light stamp set.

I learned this fun fold from Debbie Henderson.

The acetate belly band holds the card closed.

To create this fold I started with a 5 1/2″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock that I scored at 1 3/4″, 3 1/2″, 7″ and 8 3/4″.

Fold along each score line as shown.

Make a small pencil mark at the 5 1/4″ (center) of the top and bottom of the card.

At the 3 1/2″ and 7″ score lines mark down from the the top at 1″. Repeat 1″ up from the bottom.

Place the cardstock on a piece mat and use a ruler and the scoring tool to draw score lines.

Draw score line from the top edge at the 1 3/4″ score line down to the 1″ mark along the 3 1/2″ score line. Draw another score line from the 1″ mark along the 3 1/2″ score line back up to the top edge at the 5 1/4″ mark.

Draw score line from the top edge at the 8 3/4″ score line down to the 1″ mark along the 7″ score line. Draw another score line from the 1″ mark along the 7″ score line back up to the top edge at the 5 1/4″ mark.

Repeat along the bottom edge of the card.

Fold along each score line as shown.

Fold each side of the card in as shown.

When the card base is folded closed it will look like this.

For the card layers on the inside start with a 5 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ of Very Vanilla cardstock.

Mark the center (1 5/8″) at the top and bottom with a pencil. Make another pencil mark in 7/8″ along the outside edges. Connect the marks and then cut away the corners with paper snips.

On the 5 1/4″ x 1 1/2″ strips of designer paper make a pencil mark in 7/8″ along the outside edge at the top and bottom. Draw a line from the top edge of the opposite side to the pencil mark. Cut corners away with paper snips.
