There’s something extra special about giving a handmade gift that feels thoughtful, polished, and personal.

Today’s project features a beautiful scalloped window gift box created with the Scalloped Blooms bundle and Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP). The layered florals, soft shimmer details, and coordinating papers come together to create a project that looks elegant while still being very approachable to recreate at home.

One of my favorite things about projects like this is how the small design details do so much of the work for you. The combination of layered paper, soft coloring, dimension, ribbon, and shimmer instantly creates a polished look without requiring overly complicated techniques.

If you’ve ever wanted your handmade gifts to feel more meaningful and memorable without spending hours figuring everything out, this is a wonderful project to try.

The scalloped window detail adds such a fun interactive element while also giving the recipient a little peek inside the project. I also love how adding coordinating designer paper around the sides and top of the box helps the entire project feel cohesive and complete.

Projects like this are also a great reminder that you do not need complicated techniques to create something beautiful. Sometimes thoughtful layering, color coordination, and a few special details are all it takes to create a project that feels truly special.

For the floral focal point, I used images from the Artisan Sketch Designer Series Paper and colored them with the new In Color Stampin’ Blends markers along with a touch of shimmer from one of the Shimmer Brushes. The soft coloring paired with the bold black outlines creates beautiful contrast and helps the flowers stand out against the darker layers.

The shimmer adds just enough sparkle to catch the light without overwhelming the design.

One of my favorite parts of this project is that the box is designed to hold coordinating mini note cards, making the entire gift feel even more thoughtful and complete.

I’ll actually be sharing the coordinating note cards during my online workshop this Friday.

The new colors are here… and I couldn’t wait to start creating with them.

But if you’re anything like me (or many of my customers), you might love the new colors…

and still find yourself wondering:

“I love them… but how do I use them?”

you’re not alone.

That’s exactly what today’s project is designed to solve.

WHY THIS PROJECT WORKS

Instead of trying to come up with a brand-new design for every card…

this project uses one simple layout that you can repeat again and again.

That means:

• less overthinking
• more finished cards
• better use of your supplies

Just a clean, elegant card you can recreate again and again.

PROJECT DESIGN BREAKDOWN

These cards all start with:

• A clean white card base
• A layered square panel for structure
• Soft color added to the background using blending on specialty paper

Then I added:

• A small ribbon + embellishment for a finished look
• A black & white focal image (fussy cut vases) for contrast
• A simple sentiment in black

DON’T FORGET THE INSIDE

I kept the inside simple by adding:

• A small strip of coordinating paper
• A clean white writing space
• Just enough detail to tie everything together.

WHY THIS COLOR STRATEGY WORKS

If you’re unsure how to use new colors, this is one of the easiest approaches:

• keep your base neutral
• let the color shine in the background
• use black & white for contrast

This keeps your cards looking polished without needing to figure out complicated color combinations.

CREATE MULTIPLE CARDS WITH ONE IDEA

One of my favorite parts of this project?

Every card you see here uses the same layout.

The only thing that changed:

• the color
• the paper
• the small details

And yet… each one feels completely different.

Simple Doesn’t Have to Mean Boring. If you’ve ever sat down to create and thought…

“I want something simple… but I don’t want it to look plain…”

It’s one of the most common struggles I hear. And it’s exactly why I love this project.

WHY THIS WORKS

This design gives you:

• a clean, elegant look
• a layout you can repeat
• and just enough detail to make it feel special

Without adding extra time or complexity.

And if you’ve ever needed to make a lot of cards at once…

this is the kind of design that saves you.

(I’ll be making 192 of these for my upcoming kits)

Let’s Talk About the Layers

This card may look detailed—but it’s built on simple pieces:

• A clean white card base
• A strip of pearlized paper for soft shimmer
• A 3″ x 4″ piece of designer series paper (DSP)
• A stamped + heat embossed vellum overlay

That vellum layer is what really elevates the design. It softens the pattern underneath and gives it that polished, finished look.

The Trick That Makes This Work

If you’ve ever used vellum before, you know the struggle…

adhesive showing through.

So in this project, I show you how to use an adhesive sheet behind your DSP so the vellum adheres cleanly—without any visible glue.

It’s one of those small changes that makes a big difference.

Same Layout… Endless Possibilities

One of my favorite parts of this design?

You can use this same layout with:

• different patterns
• different colors
• different sentiments

And it feels like a completely new card every time.

That means:

• less overthinking
• more creating
• better use of your supplies

Just a simple base, a few layers, and thoughtful details that bring it all together.

It’s the kind of project you can:

• personalize with your own supplies
• and make again and again

This card is designed to help you:

• use up your scrap paper
• create something beautiful without overthinking
• add interest without adding bulk

Instead of covering your entire layer with pattern paper…

we’re using smaller strips and leaving intentional white space.

That one small shift makes a BIG difference.

In this project, I’m also adding a simple detail that elevates the design: scoring

It’s subtle… but it adds texture and draws your eye exactly where you want it.

And it’s one of the easiest ways to make a card feel more finished—without adding extra layers.

The post Easy Scrap Paper Card Idea That Looks Beautiful (Video) appeared first on Creativelee Yours.

If you love cards with lots of texture and detail, this one is going to catch your eye.

At first glance, it looks like there are a lot of pieces and layers involved — but once you break it down, it’s actually very manageable and fun to create.

For this card, I started with a neutral base and built up layers using embossed die-cut banners. The texture from the Lazy Daisy 3D Embossing Folder adds just the right amount of interest without overwhelming the design.

From there, I added die-cut flowers and stems using the Sweet Bugs dies, along with a simple stamped sentiment to bring everything together.

One of my favorite parts of this design is how the layers work together to create a polished look — while still keeping the process approachable.

And the inside ties everything together with a coordinating embossed strip and a simple sentiment, making it feel complete without adding extra complexity.

If you’ve ever looked at a card like this and thought:

“I love it… but I don’t know if I could make it”

You’re not alone.

The key is breaking it down into simple steps and building one layer at a time.

White on white cards are one of my favorite styles for creating elegant handmade cards. By layering shades of white cardstock and adding just a small pop of color, you can create a design that feels both clean and eye-catching. Do you happen to recognize this layout?

Today’s project is actually a reimagined version of a card (pictured on right) I originally shared in April of 2024 (see the original post HERE). The dies I used for that card have since retired, but I’ve recreated the same beautiful effect using an inlaid die cut technique with the Pretty Florals Dies.

The result is a white on white card with a pop of Petunia Pop color showing through the design — and the technique can easily be recreated using dies you already own.

Why This Technique is Useful

One question I hear often from cardmakers is:

“What do I do when the dies used in a project are no longer available?”

Instead of recreating the card exactly the same way, sometimes the solution is to recreate the appearance using a different technique.

In this case, the inlaid die cut technique allows us to create the illusion of a detailed cut-out design while still using dies that are currently available.

This approach is a great way to:

• stretch the supplies you already own
• recreate looks you love
• build your creative problem-solving skills

Card Design Details

For this version of the project, I kept the same elegant layered look but made a few changes.

The card features:

• layered white cardstock panels
• a soft vellum layer for added texture
• a bold Petunia Pop color showing through the floral design
• an inlaid floral die cut for dimension and detail

The result is a clean and elegant card design that works for many occasions.

White on white cards are a beautiful way to create elegant handmade cards without needing a lot of supplies.

By adding just a small pop of color behind the design, the card instantly becomes more eye-catching while still keeping the soft layered look.

I hope this project inspires you to look at your dies in new ways and experiment with techniques that help you stretch your supplies.

Have you ever looked at packaging from your crafting supplies and thought, “I bet I could use that for something!”

In today’s project, I’m sharing a treat and gift card holder that repurposes packaging you might normally toss away. This fun design holds five Merci chocolates and a gift card, making it perfect for spring gifting, teacher appreciation, or a sweet surprise for a friend.

For this project, I combined products from the Cute as a Bug Suite with the Homemade Sweetness Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Filled with Sweetness Dies to create a bright, cheerful design.

Project Inspiration

I originally shared a similar idea at Kevin’s Winter Retreat this past January, and the response was incredible. Many attendees loved the concept of turning everyday packaging into a functional project.

Today I’m showing a new variation using the adorable ladybug paper and bright spring colors.

This version uses:

• A Flirty Flamingo card base
• Layers of Strawberry Slush cardstock
• Homemade Sweetness Designer Series Paper (DSP) with ladybugs and flowers
• Dies from the Sweet Bugs bundle and Filled with Sweetness Dies

What This Project Holds

This design creates a treat and gift card holder in one project.

Inside the cello bag are:

• Five Merci chocolates
• A decorative ribbon belly band to hold everything in place

On the back, a pocket holds a gift card, making it perfect for birthdays, thank-you gifts, or spring celebrations.

Clever Crafty Tip

One of my favorite parts of this project is repurposing the clear packaging from Stampin’ Dimensionals to hold the chocolates.

Instead of tossing it away, it becomes the perfect container for treats inside the card!

Little creative solutions like this help you stretch your supplies and reduce waste while making something beautiful.

There’s something special about getting your hands on new products before anyone else.

Today’s card is a sneak peek of the beautiful Garden Poetry Suite — and it’s also a glimpse into what we’ll be creating together at my upcoming March Bingo event.

This design started with a simple idea: take a flat card base and add just one interactive element that creates movement, texture, and visual interest—all without complicated measurements or bulky layers.

The result is a card that opens beautifully, feels special in your hands, and still comes together quickly at your craft table.

Why You’ll Love This Card Design

What makes this project shine is how flexible it is.

Using the same basic layout, you can:

• Change the Designer Series Paper to completely transform the look
• Swap out colors to fit any season or occasion
• Use different sentiments without redesigning the card

It’s the kind of card design you’ll come back to again and again.

A Simple Change, A Totally Different Look

During the live demonstration, I actually made a small change that perfectly shows why this layout works so well.

The original sample uses Peach Pie cardstock behind the Designer Series Paper. When I went to recreate it during the video, I swapped that layer for Calypso Coral instead.

Same layout.
Same paper.
Same sentiment.

But the finished card feels completely different.

That’s one of my favorite things about well-designed card layouts — once the structure works, you can adjust colors, textures, or accents to suit whatever you have on hand without starting over.

Why This Design Is Worth Saving

This Corner Explosion Fun Fold hits that sweet spot between special and practical.

Here’s why it’s a layout I’d absolutely keep in your idea files:

• The fold creates interaction without complicated measuring

Sometimes the best cards aren’t the most complicated ones.

Today’s project is a standard top-fold card—no fancy folds, no tricky mechanics—but it’s full of texture, layering, and sweet details that make it feel extra special. This is the kind of card you can create quickly, customize easily, and reach for again and again when you want something handmade without overthinking it.

Why You’ll Love This Card Design

What makes this card shine is how simple elements work together:

• A soft embossed background adds instant interest
• A layer of vellum gently softens the design
• Patterned paper brings in color and personality
• Small die-cut details and embellishments finish it off without overwhelming the card

It’s proof that you don’t need a complicated layout to create a card that feels thoughtful and complete.

Let the Paper Do the Work

One of my favorite things about this design is how easily it can be customized. For this version, I used a sweet lamb image, but the layout itself works beautifully with any character or focal image you love.

Don’t have this exact bundle? No problem.

You could swap in:

• bunnies, puppies, or other animals
• floral images
• seasonal icons
• even sentiments as the main focal point

The same layout works every time—just change the paper and focal element to match the occasion or the person you’re creating for.

Texture Makes Simple Cards Feel Special

Even though this is a quick card, it doesn’t feel flat. The combination of embossing, vellum, and layered paper creates depth and dimension without adding bulk or complexity.

This is a great reminder that:

This Lift-Up Fun Fold is such a satisfying design because it gives you a clean, modern front panel and then a surprise “reveal” when you lift the top flap to open the card. For my featured version, I paired the brand-new (coming January 2026!) Easter Basket stamp and die bundle with the beautiful Easter Joy Specialty Paper. The woven basket detail is definitely the star — you can actually thread the tiny decorative strips through the basket die-cut, giving it the sweetest textured look. I tucked in patterned-paper Easter eggs, added a stamped chocolate bunny, layered in bright spring colors, and finished the focal point with a delicate bow. Inside the card, a simple stamped greeting and a couple of coordinating eggs tie everything together without adding bulk.

I also shared two alternate versions during the video to show how incredibly flexible this layout is. One features the project we’re making in my Diemonds team event — a festive Christmas design using the Christmas Tags & More Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Traditional Labels Bundle. The other is a soft, all-occasion card highlighting the Wildflower Birthday Designer Series Paper (which is currently on the Last Chance list!). All three cards use the exact same layout, but the mood completely changes depending on the paper and ephemera you choose. It’s a perfect “template” card you can remake for any season or recipient.

Do you ever want your handmade cards to feel a little more polished — without taking hours?
In this week’s tutorial, I’m sharing an elegant textured card idea that’s simple enough for mass production but beautiful enough to gift or mail for any heartfelt occasion.

We’re featuring the Peace On Earth Bundle and Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper — both perfect for year-round “sending prayers” or thoughtful friendship cards. You’ll also see how to customize your label shape with one quick die-cutting trick you’ll want to use on every project!

• Adds instant dimension with embossed texture
• Works for any patterned paper or color palette
• Features a clever label-cutting tip for flexibility
• Perfect for creating thoughtful cards in batches

Whether you’re sending encouragement or just a little peace and comfort, this layout will help your handmade cards look professional and heartfelt — without extra stress.

Cardmaking Tutorial Highlights:

For this design, we’re starting with a Thick Basic White card base and layering “cheater strips” of Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper to add color and pattern without using a full sheet. Then, we emboss coordinating cardstock with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder for instant texture.

Next, we cut the embossed panel into three strips and layer it onto Secret Sea cardstock to create dimension and visual balance.

The custom label trick is one of my favorite time-savers! Simply run a narrower cardstock strip through the die for a tailored label that perfectly fits your sentiment.

The “Sending Prayers” greeting is stamped in two shades of blue for a soft, layered look, then accented with a Secret Sea ribbon, die-cut foliage, and a flower embellishment.

Inside, a coordinating white panel layered on Secret Sea carries the sentiment and a simple paper accent for a polished finish.
