Our THEME for this highlight is in honor of our CEO Sara Douglas- So we can share what we love with others. We are SURPRISING SARA with cards of encouragement, thanks and support for all that Sara is doing for us as demonstrators.
The card I have chosen to share today make me feel all of those things. It was inspired by one I saw created by Michelle Zindorf featuring the super fun Waterfront stamp set. With a son as well as countless friends and family serving in the military, the flag in the skyline really spoke to me so as soon as I saw her card I knew I had to give it a try.
The skyline was created by stamping the images in Pacific Point and Real Red on 3-5/8″ x 3-5/8″ Shimmer White cardstock. The ground and trees were stamped in Memento Black to give a nice silhouette appearance. I sponged a bit of Night of Navy ink to give a little more depth.
Since my skyline ended up a bit darker than I had anticipated, I embossed my sentiment on Vellum cardstock before adding it to the card front to soften the colors behind it a bit.

- 4″ x 4″ Whisper White cardstock
- 3-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ Night of navy cardstock
- 3-5/8″ x 3-5/8″ Shimmer White cardstock
- 1″ x 3-7/8″ Vellum cardstock
- 4″ x 5-1/4″ Whisper White cardstock (inside)
