This month’s theme is CAS(e) the Mini Switcharoo with a specific focus on NOT using the same colors or the same products as our inspiration from the 2022 Mini and switch it up with a totally different stamp set/suite AND color palette.

I took my inspiration from a sample on page 8 of the mini catalog. I love the soft colors and the collage of conversation hearts that bring me back to my childhood and the looking forward to the fun time trading Valentines with my classmates.

To switch it up, I decided to create a masculine card that could be used for just about any occasion. Can you see the same layout in my project?

I kept the same basic layout and elements:

  • Starting with a solid cardstock for the card base that is embossed. Here I used Basic Black with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder (one of my favs)
  • Adding a strip of Designer Series Paper. I pulled in one of the great prints from the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack (DSP)
  • A collage of shapes. I cut various sizes of triangles out of each of the finishes found in the Metallic cardstock. LOVE IT!
  • A little strip of neutral cardstock with a stamped sentiment. My card features Very Vanilla cardstock stamped with Memento ink.
  • It’s all finished off with a few embellishments sprinkled around the collage. I added in Brushed Metallic Dots. What a wonderful masculine feel this gives!

Project Layers:

  • 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ (folded in half) Basic Black cardstock
  • 4″ x 2″ DSP
  • Scraps Metallic cardstock in all 3 finishes to die-cut triangles
  • 2-7/8″ x 5/8″ Very Vanilla cardstock- sentiment
  • 4″ x 5-1/4″ Very Vanilla cardstock (inside)
