As I scrolled through Shel’s blog I came across a post where she taught how to use your dies to create an fun embossed background, so I thought I would give this a try. Here’s the card of Shel’s that I CASE’d!

For today’s project I pulled out my So Many Snowflakes Dies and paired them with a couple upcoming products (yes a little sneak peek-whoo hoo!) that will be available August 3, 2021 as part of our July-December 2021 Mini Catalog (Penguin Place Stamp Set) and Sale-A-Bration offering (Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper).
I started off with a Thick Basic White card base and added a couple strips of the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper (DSP) along the two sides.
To emboss the 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ Basic White cardstock layer, I created my sandwich with Platform #1, Cutting Plate #3, Silicone Craft Sheet (this is the trick to keep the dies from cutting all the way through the cardstock), Basic White cardstock, So Many Snowflakes Dies and then Embossing Plate #4. You will have to play with your sandwich a bit. You could change Plate #4 out to be another Cutting Plate #3, but on my machine it didn’t have the pressure I was looking for. This is a super fun one to give a try.
Next, I fussy cut one of the adorable images from the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper (DSP) for the focal point on my project. Did you notice a little shimmer on this cutie patootie? Yup, I added some Wink of Stella to give a little sparkle! LOVE THIS!!!!
The sentiment from the Penguin Place Stamp Set is heat embossed on Misty Moonlight cardstock with White embossing powder and then clipped apart with paper snips.
I finished the card off with a few 2021-2023 In Color gems.
