Before I jump into today’s project, I wanted to share the surprise package each trip achiever received in the mail a couple of weeks before the trip. For my project I wanted to create a tropical sunset for my focal point, so I started by adding color to the background of the Basic White die-cut with blending brushes. Have you tried these yet? OMG…they are fantabulous and blend so easily!
Next I stamped the images in Memento ink and then colored them in with the Black Stampin’ Blends to create the solid images to look like an evening silhouette.
I didn’t want the black area of the card front to be plain so I stamped and embossed additional palm trees with clear embossing powder.
The “aloha” from the In The Tropics Dies was the perfect finishing touch to complete the design.
Card Layers:
- 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ Gorgeous Grape cardstock
- 5-1/4″ x 8″ (folded in half) Basic Black cardstock
- 4″ x 4″ Basic White cardstock – die cut
- 3″ x 4″ scored at 1″, 2″ & 3″ Basic Black cardstock for pop up
- 2-1/4″ x 3/4″ scored at 1-1/4″ Basic Black cardstock for mechanism
- 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″ Basic White cardstock (inside)
