Today I am sharing a incredible gift tag we made at my annual stamp party I hosted recently. This was inspired by a tag shared by Lisa Curcio a few weeks ago. Each guest had the choice to do the basic version (image on left) or the stepped up version (image on right).
The layers of the tree were created using a napkin fold technique.
The top layer is cut 1″ x 1″, the 2nd layer is cut 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ and the bottom layer is cut 2″ x 2″. When creating this fold, be sure to use the bone folder to add a nice crease to each fold line. I found designer paper was best to work with when dealing with these smaller pieces.
Start by folding the piece of designer series paper in half diagonally.
Open the piece back up.
Turn the piece 90 degrees and fold the piece in half diagonally in the other direction.
Open the piece back up. Your crease lines should create an “X”.
Fold in both left and right sides creating a triangle.
Fold in the top layer of the triangle, meeting in the center.
Once all 3 pieces are folded add a strip of sticky strip to the 2 1/2″ circle and adhere your pieces starting at the top with a slight overlap to create your tree.
